Our interns are involved in the following projects:
MGG’s asthma initiative in collaboration with the Center for Childhood Asthma
Interns helped with recruitment of under-represented populations of Baltimore City as well as providing asthma education. Collaborated as well with Peabody in our “Beats and Breathe” initiative.
Ongoing community recruitment, specifically with faith based organizations
Interns attended meetings with spiritual leaders to learn of health needs, as well as oversaw the implementation of several health projects at local congregations.
Collaboration with the Baltimore City Health Department
Interns worked with Baltimore City census data to create statistical models in regards to understanding how neighborhood socioeconomic variables impact health overall.
The Lay Health Educator Program, an initiative designed to create peer to peer health educators in local communities
Interns evaluated how grit plays a role in the ongoing dedication of these volunteers and in the health initiatives they provide their community.
The “Hero Lab Initiative” in which positive psychology interventions were implemented in high risk school-aged children of Baltimore City.
Interns were directly responsible for managing a classroom, and seeing the intervention through to completion over a semester
